grammar mini lesson

Here's a full version of the PPT - you will notice that the font page looks different.  I deleted the duck and rabbit to reduce file size. It was pointless in the end.  :)

You can view it full screen.  Please listen to the other post for the audio.  My apologies that I couldn't get the two to work together.

  1. the post with the audio is above this on the main page of my blog - this is just a close up of the ppt. Unfortunately when I loaded it none of the animations/transitions loaded.

  2. star - I like how you began by providing clear objectives and by doing a review. I thought the lesson was great, especially the review at the end. I like the wrap up activity of having students write a short paragraph about someone.

wish - I can't really think of a wish but a suggestion might be instead of having the students write about family members and handing it in, you might be able to allow them to write about you and other students in the class and what they are doing. For example, "Anna is sitting next to me, she has two pencils. Joe is raising his hand, he has a question". Then maybe they could read their paragraphs to the class so everyone can listen to different examples.

    Well done!

  3. Good suggestion - I did the "about a family member" thing because I know that it's a paragraph that I have my Spanish level 1 groups write. Writing about a classmate and then even having them "guess" about whom the sentences are written would be a good follow-up 'game'.

  4. Got it on my PC-posting this on my iPad:). Well organized presentation. I think some things were missing though when I viewed it.

  5. Unfortunately slideshare didn't capture all of my transitions/animations. The video showcases those better. I'm not sure if downloading the presentation will help or not.

  6. Kathryn,
I know I responded to your lesson last week, but I don't know where that response is! Not sure what happened! But, I really liked your approach by using the pictures of animals to show the difference between the persons talking. I also really liked your "cool fact". My wish would be to ask students to either pick up a book they are reading or find a book and share with the class what person the book is written in. Great job!
