Great lesson. I really liked all of your visuals, especially with the Did you Know? One wish is to make the words bolded at the bottom or use them as a title at the top because I usualy look for important information at the top of my page as opposed to the bottom. Great video narration.
I normally do put my titles at the top. This background theme had the pages set up with the color blocks at the bottom. Since it was wasted space, I decided to use that colored area as the place for the "title". I think if I would do a different theme the title placement would be adjusted. Thanks for the feedback. :)
The visuals in your presentation were very engaging. I think kids would chuckle at the two animals talking about another animal. I think some words can be tricky for ELLs. For instance, the word 'violent' to describe a storm may not be comprehensible input for the students. I like the idea of Cool Facts, but I think it would be great to let kids validate that on the spot. For instance, just check in a book that they are reading for English class or for their ESL course.
Excellent lesson! The thing that stood out the most to me was the excellent use of visuals. I also like the way you speak to your class. You are clear and you use simple words and you speech follows a natural rythm. The only wish I have is to maybe use a bigger text of bolder print, I found some of it difficult to read. Either that or I need better glasses. Thanks
I love how you presented the lesson through a video! Very creative! I think you did a great job. I really like how you explained he and she as male and female! A wish if I had to have one would be for the title words to be darker, but I understand as you stated above that that slide was already fixed that way. Nice job!
I think some of the text viewing issues for Elizabeth and Damian were because of the junky digital camera I used to literally tape the screen of my computer. (A small computer screen doesn't help either). Were the problems fixed when you just viewed the power point? I can certainly increase the font size though. :)
